February 21, 1999 - Dr. Khin Saw Win, a Director of Burma Watch International, argues, in a letter appearing in the Edmonton Journal, against the continuing trade with Burma by Canadian corporations ("Trade with Burma doesn't help country's suffering people") and urges them to withdraw their investments in Burma.

September 6, 1999 - A guest column "9-9-99 a chance to help long-suffering Burmese people" written by Dr. Khin Saw Win, a Director of Burma Watch International, appeared on the Edmonton Journal Letters page.

September 8, 1999 - Edmonton Journal foreign affairs writer, Sayta Das, wrote a feature article "Legislature will be asked to condemn dictatorship in Burma, MLA tells rally" which describes the "Free Burma 9-9-99" rally organized by Burma Watch International. A member of Burma Watch International, Phyllis Bocock, is prominent in a photograph accompanying the article.

October 1999 - The article "Is 'Peace' Really a Weapon to Help the Long Suffering Burmese People?" written by Dr. Khin Saw Win, a Director of Burma Watch International, appeared in the 1999 Vol. XIV No. 3 issue of "Speaking About Rights" -- a newsletter of the Montreal-based Canadian Human Rights Foundation.
