that meet our goals and objectives. A project might be one undertaken collectively by Burma Watch members, or it might be one undertaken by an individual member or it might be one undertaken by another organization.

Beginning in 1999, Dr. Khin Saw Win, working in her capacity as an executive of the Burma Medical
Association (BMA), helped organize and present a series of workshops for people in the Thailand-Burma
and India-Burma border areas. The workshops are aimed at providing education and training

Dr. Khin Saw Win was formerly a physician at the Rangoon General
Hospital and personal physician of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
She holds M.B.,B.S. and M.Med(Int Med) degrees and is presently
a Faculty Lecturer in the Faculty of Nursing and Medicine
at the University of Alberta. She is on the executive of the Burma Medical Association (BMA)
and is also a Director of Burma Watch International.
