This is a special event being sponsored and organized by members of Burma Watch International to raise funds to support the activities of Burma Watch International -- including financial support for health care clinics serving Burmese refugees living in refugee camps along the Thailand-Burma border
and promotion of democracy and human rights in Burma.
Guest Speaker - Dr. Myron Semkuley
We have invited Dr. Myron Semkuley, founder of Calgary based
Medical Mercy Canada, to speak about his
Experiences delivering medical supplies and providing health education clinics for Burmese refugees in Thailand
Medical Mercy Canada is
a non-governmental, non-religious, charitable organization which helps out Burmese refugees in Thailand and impoverished villagers in the Ukraine
by providing medical supplies and instruction, and support for local social
programs. In 2002, it plans to also help out Burmese refugees living in India.
Entertainment - Sunil Datar and Naveen Shastri
Sunil and Naveen will provide music featuring the acoustic guitar, African drum and tambourine with songs in Hindi and English.
